Soldiers to Summits has agreed to partner up with Walking With the Wounded to help organize a trip to the South Pole in 2013 for injured veterans or active duty service members.  Walking With the Wounded is a UK based nonprofit with a very similar mission to ours.  They have already successfully organized expeditions to the North Pole and Mt Everest.  This South Pole challenge has an impressive list of supporters including Prince Harry (read a PDF of the press release announcing Prince Harry’s patronage of the Walking With The Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge 2013).  S2S will be soliciting applications shortly for the US team that will then participate in cold weather training in Iceland in March 2013 and head to the South Pole in November-December 2013.  If you are interested in participating or just want to learn more, click here.
