Climb High with No Barriers
Join us June 28-29, 2013 to support an incredible cause and make some awesome memories! Climb High with No Barriers is brought to you by local organizations with a passion for the No Barriers mindset and mission. The proceeds from these events will support No Barriers Programs including: Soldiers to Summits and the No Barriers Summit; each program is aimed at helping others all over the world to unleash the potential of the human spirit by harnessing the barriers that try to limit us.
Climb Mount Mitchell
On Friday, June 28th, we’ll set off to climb the highest mountain on the Eastern Seaboard, Mt. Mitchell at 6,684 feet in elevation at the summit! Participants are asked to donate or raise $500 for No Barriers as an entry fee. See below for some great tools and ideas to make fundraising the money easy! We are limited to 30 participants, so don’t wait too long to sign up!
Hikers will have two options: 1) Climb the 6 miles to the top and enjoy the breathtaking views and take a shuttle to the bottom, or 2) Enjoy the 12-mile round trip hike! All participants will receive a packed lunch and support from our experienced team of hikers. Click here for more details on the climb.
Watch High Ground at the Asheville Brewing Co. Theater
Saturday, June 29th, 12-3 PM
Join us for a showing of the riveting documentary, High Ground (View Movie Trailer), which follows the first Soldiers to Summits team in 2010, as 11 veterans learn to harness their adversities and overcome challenges while climbing Mt. Lobuche.
A veteran participant from the film will join us for Q&A after the film.
