2022 Summit FAQ

What is the Summit?
The No Barriers Summit is an annual gathering of people in our community of all abilities to challenge our ideas of what is possible and what we believe we are capable of. This is typically a 3-day event that includes entertainment, adaptive activities and sports, workshops, and inspirational speakers. This year it is August 25-28 at YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado!

What is What’s Your Everest (WYE)?
What’s Your Everest is an annual fundraising hike bringing people together to challenge what we believe we are capable of. It is built around people who need a Rope Team to reach their personal Everest. This has roots in Erik Weihenmayer’s hiking the actual Mount Everest back in 2001. This year it is Sunday, August 28 at YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado!

What’s different about WYE in 2022?
This year it is part of the Summit. We will have 3 hike options at YMCA of the Rockies.

What are the 3 WYE hike options?
Glacier Creek to Bible Point, MorningSide to Bible Point and Wind River Loop. Check back for more updates

What is a Rope Team?

What’s Your Everest is all about elevating people in our community and identifying the goals that they set for themselves. At this event, our participants who choose to take on the challenge may ask for a Rope Team to support them in their efforts to reach their own personal Everest. These teams could consist of an adventurer in a wheelchair, supported by members who will be connected to one another via a series of ropes to assist them over and around the obstacles that the Rockies bring. Other teams may consist of a person with a visual impairment and their team helping them navigate the terrain by guiding them.  A Rope Team could be for you, someone in your own family, your company, or someone in the community you may not know yet. Either way it’ll be a day you don’t soon forget as you “rope up” to make a difference in someone’s life!

What if I don’t want to be on a Rope Team?
Totally fine. Register as an individual. You have the option as an individual to fundraise and come and hike with others. If you change your mind later, just let us know.
