Jason Young served in the US Army as a Cavalry Scout. While on deployment in Iraq, he served as a member of a brigade reconnaissance team. His team saw a lot of action and Jason returned home with a TBI and PTSD.
In his civilian life, Jason enjoys rucksacking and being in the woods; he finds it helps him to come back to center. He recently became a peer support specialist in the state of Michigan and helped to set up a nonprofit for veterans in his hometown. Through this expedition, Jason hopes to regain some of his confidence and be able to show his peers that you can fall and stumble over and over, but it’s about how many times you get up that counts.
