Karly’s love of stories began as a child. Inspired by her father’s handmade books and fueled by her overactive imagination, she spent her childhood dreaming of fantastical adventures (usually while sitting atop a tree) in her home state of Wisconsin. She chased this passion all the way to college where she received her degree in Rhetoric and Composition at Colorado State University.
Her sense of curiosity has taken her all over the world, including Peru, where she left home for a month to help build a community center, trek the Andes, and drink far too much mate. She has also ridden camels across the Sahara Desert in Morocco and swam in the Sea of Marmara in Istanbul.
All of these experiences have shaped Karly into the person she is today, and she is excited to craft stories for No Barriers. She is a firm believer in the positive power stories and social media can have on our daily lives.
When she’s not fulfilling writer stereotypes (staring at her laptop with furrowed brows, lots of coffee, etc.), you can find Karly hunting down ridiculously cheap flights, making jokes on Twitter, hiking (struggling) up 14ers, breathing through a tank underwater, debating political theory, and re-watching the same 5 shows on Netflix.
