Naomi Hart’s primary duty in the US Navy was as a Quartermaster. Quartermasters are experts in surface and tactical navigation, as assistants to officers of the deck and the navigator. Part of her responsibilities included being a helmsman and performing ship control and bridge watch duties. Secondary duties entailed anti terrorism protection and emergency management. While in the service, Naomi deployed in support of missions to South America, as well in the Atlantic and European Seas.
As a single mother of two beautiful daughters, Naomi and her girls find solace in the wonders of mother nature. They love hiking, rock climbing, and museum hopping as a family. Naomi hopes to continue living a No Barriers life. She believes that participation in this program will enhance her ability to inspire others through her own experience, as well as enabling her to grow and excel to new horizons.
Naomi is an alumna of the New Mexico 9-Day Backcountry Expedition in the Gila Wilderness that took place October 2-11, 2018.
