Nate Gillette is the Logistics and Operations Coordinator for the Warriors program, but he loves to get back to his roots in the field as an Expedition Leader. Nate has spent his entire life playing outside—from the Appalachian Mountains in Central Pennsylvania to the Rocky Mountains of the West. He spent his college years pursuing a degree in Outdoor Recreation Management from Penn State University while leading high adventure expeditions and facilitating staff training for the school’s outdoor program. He was a teaching assistant for rock climbing and backpacking leadership courses and helped design and run outdoor recreation based summer camps for kids. He is currently a Wilderness First Responder, an ACA Swiftwater Rescue Instructor, AIARE Avalanche Awareness trained, as well as an avid mountain biker, skier/snowboarder, whitewater kayaker, and all-around outdoor adventure enthusiast. When not adding his enthusiasm and knowledge to the Warriors team, Nate volunteers as an adaptive ski instructor for the National Sports Center for the Disabled and plays a lead role in the Fort Collins chapter of Team River Runner, a national organization that provides whitewater kayak instruction to veterans.
