Raegan Sealy is a singer, rapper, poet and co-founder of Sound Board NYC. A powerhouse for social change through the arts, Raegan uses music and performance as an artist and an advocate, drawing strength from her personal experiences in overcoming addiction, domestic violence, sexual abuse and depression.
The first in her family to go to college, after graduating Raegan was awarded with both a Fulbright Award to pursue an MFA in Poetry at The New School for Public Engagement in New York City.
She is also the recipient of P.E.O.’s International Peace Scholarship which she was awarded for her work in creating more educational opportunities for young people, and in the same year was awarded the Women’s International Leadership Grant by the International House of New York. In 2017 she was chosen as a TNP Scholar – a competitive program which supports socially conscious leaders with purpose-driven ideas to reach their full human potential.
Raegan will be teaching “Reclaim Your Narrative: Writing Workshop with Sound Board NYC” during Friday’s schedule of activities.
Her music and rap have taken her across the world and she has written and performed with names like Shane Koyczan, Kate Tempest, the Philadelphia Soul, Kate Spade, Tiffany Dufu and Michael Bloomberg. Raegan is committed to creating a world in which all people have the creative tools they need to process trauma, overcome barriers and make lasting change, both personally and socially.
