Annual Giving Coordinator

General Purpose:  This Full-Time position is designated to raise revenue for No Barriers USA by organizing and executing giving strategies designed to grow the individual donor base ultimately securing annual and major gifts. This position will be located in Fort Collins, CO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Designs and implements annual donor stewardship plan with the intention of retaining and upgrading gifts from individuals

  • Coordinates production and distribution of quarterly newsletters, monthly impact reports, annual giving summary (printed and online)
  • Creates and manages giving clubs: annual, major, legacy including recruitment, communication, in-person events, managing benefits and other related duties
  • Personally stewards individual annual donors giving less than $1K
  • Provides donor acknowledgment and receipt of all gifts in compliance with IRS guidelines and established organizational donor stewardship protocols
  • Creates giving reports anticipated by or as requested by the donor or to advance stewardship efforts
  • Organizes thank you phone call activities engaging staff and volunteers in direct communication with donors (scripting, managing efforts, quality, records keeping)

Designs and implements annual direct appeal

  • Produces appeal calendar, aligns support from Marketing department, coordinates delivery
  • Grows the fundraising database by prospecting program alumni and other interested individuals
  • Creates content for appeals by cultivating alumni and engaging service departments for compelling storylines and then turns them into fundraising messaging
  • Ensures campaign actives in all mediums and channels: online, print, seasonal, special
  • Regularly assesses the efficacy of appeals, tweaking where necessary and implementing new strategies
  • Tracks on new fundraising opportunities, campaigns and tools to ensure No Barriers is raising optimum funds from individual donors
  • Performs gift data entry, pulls reports as necessary
  • Manages all non-event online giving via Classy

Prospecting new major donors for the organization

  • Implements strategy for individual annual donors giving $1K+ with engagement by supporting Executive Director, COO and VP in their assignments
  • Assigns and manages portfolios of individual donors assigned to Development staff and No Barriers leaders
  • Uses Wealthengine to screen donors and identify prospects for gifts of $10K+  

Other fundraising duties

  • Reconciles income reporting monthly with Finance
  • Coordinates/provides support for  in-person prospecting events as assigned, such as salon events held by board members and donors
  • Provides on the ground support of Colorado area special events as assigned

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to positive organizational culture through intentional and identifiable actions
  • Work effectively across all departments to ensure knowledge and alignment of funding needs and opportunities
  • Support employee engagement, stewardship and recognition efforts for individuals and donors from across the organization
  • Work effectively within budget and help manage the resources and expenses within the department

Supervisory Duties:

  • This is not a supervisory position, but does require engagement with high-level donors, partners, and volunteers and requires successful leadership skills for managing cross-departmental projects
  • Position will manage volunteer support in executing annual giving fundraising projects including mailings, thank you phone calls to donors and other project production

Qualifications:

Knowledge, skills, and ability—

  • Experience in communicating with, engaging and soliciting individual donors
  • Process driven with demonstrable history of implementing giving programs
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as a part of a dynamic and fast-paced team
  • Proven ability to communicate professionally and effectively both in writing and in person with a variety of constituents
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once with significant attention to detail
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to engage in planning discussions and balance both short term and long term growth goals overall
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage within identified  budgets and timelines
  • Exceptional organizational skills and astute attention to detail
  • Experience working successfully with a variety of constituents, high-level volunteers, partners, and team members
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter who is self-motivated and task oriented

Education or formal training

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to public relations; business; events; or nonprofit management
  • Professional development in any of the following areas is desirable: fundraising; fundraising annual campaign management; individual donor development; portfolio management; project management; volunteer engagement

Experience

  • Proven experience in managing donor campaigns, raising funds and asking for donations
  • Proven experience working with and engaging leadership volunteers and individuals with the means to make a transformative gift
  • Experience managing projects where a high degree of organization and attention to detail is essential
  • Superior customer service skills to a variety of constituencies in person, over the phone, in writing, over email and in social media
  • Experience working in a professional office environment
  • Nonprofit and fundraising experience preferred
  • Experience specific to independent work with donors, companies and service organizations.

Work Environment

  • This position is based at the No Barriers headquarters office in Fort Collins, CO
  • This position must be able to work independently to execute on work plans and integrate into a variety of environments including working with high net worth individuals, corporate leaders, military families and others engaged in the No Barriers community
  • Limited national travel is required

  • Possible moving of boxes that contain program or other materials (not a requirement)
