Development Coordinator

We are seeking a full-time Development Coordinator to join the No Barriers Team.

This Full-Time position will support local and national fundraising efforts with a focus on corporate, individual and fundraising event revenue generation. In addition to departmental administrative duties, this position will support local fundraising initiatives and help develop business and individual relationships that support our work. This position will be located in Fort Collins, CO.

About the Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duty Category 1:  Fundraising Support

  • Supports the fundraising needs related to Corporate, Individual and Fundraising Event initiatives including, but not limited to: calling past participants and donors; fulfilling donor recognition efforts; assisting in mass marketing of events; supporting direct mail needs.
  • Works with Marketing Team and Chief Development Officer on donor communications including Annual Report
  • Manages 3rd party events

Duty Category 2:  Data Management and Reporting 

  • Supports data entry needs; acknowledgment process and reporting needs of the organization.
  • Assists in the management of online giving platforms (including Community Funded, Classy, Text to Pledge, etc.)
  • Assists in the management and coordination of inventory for the online store and donor rewards
  • Supports strategy for donor communications including creating of segmented donor lists
  • Supports activities and organizes thank-you phone calls and mailings by engaging staff and volunteers. 

Duty Category 3:   Other fundraising duties

  • Reconciles income reporting monthly with Finance
  • Coordinates/provides support for in-person prospecting events as assigned, such as salon events held by board members and donors
  • Provides on-the-ground execution of Colorado area special events including the solicitation and securing of local teams; in-kind donations; fund-a-vet/fund-a-youth efforts

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to positive organizational culture through intentional and identifiable actions
  • Work effectively across all departments to ensure knowledge and alignment of funding needs and opportunities
  • Support employee engagement, stewardship and recognition efforts for individuals and donors from across the organization

Supervisory Duties:

  • While this position does not supervise staff, the position does require engagement with high-level donors, partners, local businesses, and volunteers, and requires successful communication and relationship skills for managing cross-departmental projects
  • Position will provide volunteer support in executing annual giving fundraising projects including mailings, thank you phone calls to donors and other project production

Education or formal training—

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to public relations; business; events; or nonprofit management or applicable experience in relevant field


  • Experience managing projects where a high degree of organization and attention to detail is essential
  • Superior customer service skills to a variety of constituencies in person, over the phone, in writing, over email, and in social media
  • Experience working in a professional office environment
  • Nonprofit fundraising or applicable experience required
  • Experience specific to independent work with donors, companies and service organizations.

Physical activities–

  • Possible moving of boxes that contain program materials (not a requirement)
  • Possible travel to domestic or international destination that includes activities such as walking for extended periods of time, carrying luggage and gear, riding in boats, engaging in service projects (that may include painting, light construction or planting), and hiking (possibly at high altitudes)
