Sales and Outreach Manager

The Outreach Manager is responsible for developing prospective leads and sales for No Barriers opportunities, from new & existing contacts, from inception through execution. This person will sit within the Marketing team, but also work closely with the Festivals & Events, Youth, Warriors, and Corporate Leaderships teams to ensure a seamless flow of communication for the client. The ideal candidate will have vast experience selling in challenging markets, have a metrics-based approach to analyzing success, and be self-directed with a great attitude. Throughout the year the focus of this work will change/split between selling/recruiting for:

  • No Barriers Youth educational travel/expeditions
  • Other No Barriers educator & school-focused offerings
  • No Barriers Summit annual event
  • No Barriers fundraising events
  • No Barriers Warriors expeditions
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sales / Recruiting —

  • Research target markets to identify sources of prospects & ways to target them
  • Conduct qualification of outreach leads.
  • Daily tasks of outreach calls to articulate benefits and features of No Barriers programs to prospective participants
  • Manage and close participation commitments with participants
  • Track and manage participant engagement (as measured by different programs) through accurate outreach activity reporting and outreach metrics.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of outreach activities and document information obtained during outreach calls and presentations into HubSpot
  • Provide timely forecasting (participation #s and budget implications) to the respective No Barriers’ Program teams, with a focus on meeting or exceeding outreach targets
  • Convey information regarding prospective clients’ needs that are not met by current products to appropriate staff.
  • Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual new outreach quotas
  • Lead the development and execution of new outreach plans that aim to achieve future revenue targets
  • Grow revenue from existing customers by expanding engagement, adding products or services, and leveraging cross-departmental relationships, to school/ district/ company/ organization-wide programs.

Outreach / Community Engagement —

  • Work with Marketing Director, Program leads, and Development team to build out comprehensive outreach/community strategies to grow No Barriers’ overall engaged community
  • Develop and implement contact tracking fields in HubSpot & Salesforce, and a strategy to help the entire No Barriers team keep contacts’ information updated in these systems
  • Develop engagement & participation pipelines and associated workflows to keep people aware of new No Barriers opportunities, and track people’s conversions/movement along these pipelines.
  • Manage the implementation of engagement strategies from inception to reporting results
  • Participate in the development of program-specific marketing plans that help drive awareness and demonstrate value to prospective participants
  • Developing authentic relationships with clients based on long-term engagement
  • Communicate community engagement strategy updates on ongoing basis

No Barriers Program Knowledge —

  • Responsible for knowing all functional aspects of all NB products and services
  • Responsible for knowing all program goals and relevant aspects of program components in order to develop strategies that help drive program participation
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of No Barriers overall goals and strategic vision; sharing this knowledge with prospective participants when appropriate
  • Maintain an understanding of industry trends, current events, anything that may impact the business by reading professional publications, researching available prospect/product resources and participating in professional organizations
  • Demonstrate superb project management and communication skills to ensure other teams are fully up to speed on deliverable timeline expectations
  • Communicate workload focus to Marketing Director on a regular basis to ensure alignment on prioritization

Job Qualifications:

Knowledge, skills, and ability —

  • Proven ability of sales, marketing, and account management
  • Understanding of management within a non-profit organization
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once with focus and efficiency
  • Proven strategic thinker with ability to balance short term needs with long term planning and growth over time
  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent collaboration skills, positive attitude and professionalism
  • Ability to track & forecast revenue and spending against budgets
  • High-level skills in Google/Microsoft products (Docs/Word, Sheets/Excel, Slides/PowerPoint)
  • Experience working with complex CRMs (SalesForce, HubSpot) or equivalent
  • Experience working with any of our target audiences (Schools, Educators, Youth, Veterans, Corporations, Non-Profits)
  • Understanding of experiential learning, the student travel business, and outdoor programs  (desired, not required)
  • Ties to the education community including the ability to navigate the political landscape of school systems (desired, not required)

Education or formal training — Bachelor’s degree (required)

  • In a field related to communications, education, business, tourism (desired, not required)

  • This is an office job based out of the Fort Collins home office requiring use of a computer.

Salary commensurate with experience — Range $40,000-$45,000/year
