Website and Email Marketing Specialist

The Website and Email Marketing Specialist will play an integral role in the No Barriers’ Marketing team’s efforts to deepen engagement with our constituents. This person is responsible for implementing content changes on the No Barriers website, managing basic website/domain administration, and also for creating/optimizing all No Barriers’ email communications with our community. This person will sit within the Marketing team, but will work closely with all staff to ensure that our No Barriers’ website and emails are up-to-date and following best-practices for engagement strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong HTML foundation, have an eye for and experience creating content in email management programs, have a metrics-based approach to analyzing success, and be self-directed with a great attitude.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Website —

  • Update online content (e.g. WordPress pages, posts, & custom post types, Hubspot landing pages, YouTube channels, Flickr gallery updates) to keep our community informed about No Barriers’ impacts and opportunities
  • Troubleshoot website bugs and manage projects/task lists with outside vendors if the solution is outside skill set
  • Create new website pages and custom post types
  • Administration of No Barriers domains and server
  • Track and report on engagement on the website
  • Contribute ideas on how to drive additional website visitation and conversions
  • Administration of our Google Analytics, Webmaster Tools, and AdWords accounts, with responsibilities to set up goals/conversion tracking and optimization of each
  • Manage on-page SEO/SEM strategies based on information from Google tools
  • Become a leader/advocate on the topic of accessible website content
  • Work with the Marketing team to suggest, develop, and execute TBD new website initiatives that could help us meet overall No Barriers organizational goals (e.g. expand engagement with our community, create better customer service [online chat], etc.)

Email Marketing —

  • Manage and create all No Barriers email marketing communications (e.g. email newsletters, fundraising campaigns, opportunity launches/announcements, recruitment campaigns, etc.)
  • Leverage our email marketing to drive key conversions around recruitment to our programs, registrations for our events and online courses, and donations during fundraising campaigns
  • Research best practices and implement email campaigns from inception to reporting results
  • Manage & implement an editorial calendar for all NB email marketing
  • Work with our Graphics Specialist to share creative, compelling, fun, funny, inspirational, and altogether awesome content through our emails
  • Work with the Marketing Director to segment our NB email contact lists and optimize content for different segments
  • Work with the Marketing team and other staff to create email drip campaigns and workflows that will drive interested parties to our engagement & participation pipelines
  • Pull engagement reports from email campaigns for reporting metrics to Marketing Director and sponsors
  • Participate in program-specific marketing plans that help drive awareness to potential participants, share experiences of current participants, and demonstrate impacts on alumni participants to our community and program funders
  • Engage with our email community in an authentic, kind, helpful manner
  • Work with Marketing team on ideas to grow No Barriers’ overall engaged community through email marketing

No Barriers Program Knowledge —

  • Responsible for knowing all functional aspects of all NB products and services in order to develop strategies that help drive program participation and be able to communicate effectively with potential participants
  • Maintain an understanding of industry trends and current events by reading professional blogs/publications, and participating in professional organizations
  • Demonstrate superb communication skills to ensure other teams are fully up to speed on deliverables and timeline expectations
  • Communicate workload and focus to Marketing Director on a regular basis to ensure alignment on prioritization

Job Qualifications:

Knowledge and ability —

  • Proven ability and experience in website and email marketing
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once with focus and efficiency
  • Proven strategic thinker with ability to balance short term needs with long term planning and growth over time
  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail

Specific Skills —

  • Experience working on WordPress websites (HTML, CSS, Mobile)
  • Experience working in HubSpot or other email marketing platforms (MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc)
  • Ability to navigate in Google products (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Experience working in Google Analytics, AdWords, Webmaster Tools (desired, not required)
  • Experience working with complex CRMs (SalesForce, HubSpot) or equivalent (desired, not required)
  • Understanding of management within a non-profit organization (desired, not required)
  • Experience working with any of our target audiences (Schools, Educators, Youth, Veterans, Corporations, Non-Profits)  (desired, not required)

Education or formal training — Bachelor’s degree (required)

  • In a field related to communications, marketing, business (desired, not required)

  • This is an office job based out of the Fort Collins home office requiring use of a computer.
