Our free veterans’ expeditions and outdoor programs serve as both an opportunity for growth and a catalyst for change as these brave men and women stretch physical and emotional boundaries, foster camaraderie, pioneer through adversity, and step up to serve others.
According to the 2014 Census, more than 3.8 million of the 19.3 million veterans in the U.S. are coping with a service-connected disability. Due to the improvements in battlefield medical treatment, they return alive, yet not whole. Upon separation from the military, many veterans feel disconnected and alone, experiencing a loss of purpose, identity, and community as they try to reestablish themselves in their civilian communities.
Our programs for veterans with disabilities permanently impact them by helping them tackle personal challenges. Mountains serve as both metaphor and training ground for setting personal goals and building world-class teams. Through the No Barriers Warriors experience, we provide veterans with connection and support systems they can depend on.
