Our Programming

No Barriers provides transformative programs for people affected by disability that shifts mindsets, creates belonging, and fosters self-discovery to elevate themselves and their communities. Prospective participants are encouraged to learn how to get involved below!

The Need
The Approach

We equip people with disabilities with a powerful framework, the No Barriers Life, designed to help them surmount life’s challenges. Our step-by-step approach empowers individuals to confront these hurdles by reshaping their perceptions of themselves, their barriers, and their future possibilities.

Phase 1

In the initial phase (Phase 1), participants are introduced to the No Barriers Life and the sequential framework that will guide them in overcoming barriers that may have stemmed from their disability. This phase not only acquaints them with their team members but also lays the groundwork for their journey.

Phase 2

The experiential phase (Phase 2) allows participants to witness the No Barriers Life principles in action. It offers them an opportunity to grasp how each element contributes to addressing their challenges while fostering stronger bonds within their team.

Phase 3

Upon returning home, individuals embark on the practical application phase (Phase 3). Supported by their team, they finalize their personal Vision statement and develop a roadmap to support it. They also identify a specific goal to focus on during this phase of the program. This phase marks the practical implementation of the lessons learned, enabling individuals to apply these newfound skills to their daily lives.

Types of Opportunities

Backcountry Expeditions

More physically challenging and require participants to carry everything they will need with them on their backs for multiple days over challenging terrain. On these expeditions, teams are often covering 5-10 miles per day of hiking over rugged terrain, while carrying a backpack that can weigh up to 60lbs. These programs take place all over the country, typically at elevations from 3,000 to 12,000ft.

Basecamp Experiences

Multi-sport experiences that incorporate our challenge course, paddling, rock climbing, and hiking, and are based out of the No Barriers Mountain Campus in the Red Feather Lakes area of Northern Colorado. The accommodations are a bit more comfortable, and the activities are more adaptable. This is a fully functioning camp with kitchen, bathrooms, showers, and bunks in canvas tents.

What Our Alumni Have to Say
No Barriers

This program and its leaders made me realize that it’s important to step outside of my comfort zone more often. This program has helped me accept the help of others and be able to ask for assistance.

John, Warriors Participant

No Barriers

It reminded me that I have a voice. It showed me that I was not alone. It helped me to realize my potential. It helped me start to see "me" again.

Kat, Family Caregiver Participant

No Barriers

Truly, the most impactful thing about No Barriers was meeting other people with different disabilities than my own. Connecting with others, learning about their battles, gives you perspective and in that perspective comes growth!
