Meet Emily Meeker, Event Management Intern

The stoke is rising and the date is getting closer.

What’s Your Everest is happening September 6th and everyone is invited.

Sign up and spread the word.

Bring your family, friends, neighbors, classmates, coworkers, and anyone else from your community that you would like to introduce to ours! This year’s all-abilities mountain adventure day will be taking place at Winter Park and there will be putt-putt golf, food, inspiring speakers, a breathtaking hike (of course!), and way more.

This extraordinary community event is HUGE deal and our team, with the help of our partner and co-host, the National Sports Center For The Disabled (NSCD), has been working tirelessly to set up it, with Emily Meeker leading the charge!

Emily joined the No Barriers team this summer as our Event Management Intern. She’s been an absolute joy to have on board and recently, we sat down to ask her about her reasons for joining the No Barriers team, and more. We hope you enjoy her interview.

Where are you from? Where do you go to school?

I am from Atlanta, Georgia and I’m going into my senior year at CU Boulder.

What are you studying?

I’m studying Business with an emphasis in Operations Management.

What drew you to No Barriers?

I was inspired by No Barriers’ belief that what’s within us is stronger than what’s in our way. I wanted to be part of a mission that helps people turn their challenges into opportunities for growth and purpose.

Why are you excited about WYE 2025?

I’m excited for What’s Your Everest 2025 because it brings the mission to life—watching participants support one another as they climb both personal and literal mountains is a powerful experience that I am excited to be a part of.

How do you hope to impact this year's WYE participants?

My goal is to be a steady presence who listens, uplifts, and helps each participant connect more deeply with their own story and strengths.

Is there anything else you would like our audience to know about you?

I try to approach each day with purpose and a willingness to step outside my comfort zone. Challenges are opportunities to learn and grow, especially when shared with a supportive community. Being part of the No Barriers team inspires me to lead with optimism and to keep pushing toward goals that matter not just for myself but for others too. Overall, I’m incredibly excited to be part of this organization and look forward to the lasting impact this event will have on both the participants and myself.
